1) Basics

Default settings, button C (autofire) enabled, a score is valid if you use just one credit from the beginning of the game.
Please note that you're not forced to use the autofire, and you're not forced to use the default autofire too. You can use the mame one or an external one as well.

For wolfmame users:
the minimum average speed of the recording must be at least ~95%. Be sure to compress the .inp and the .wlf file in the same .zip, and then attach it to a post in the forum. This thread will be open for scores posting during the checkpoints!

2) Structure of the tournament

The tornament takes place between April the 1st (00:01 AM, referring to the AEX's forum clock) and June the 3rd. During this time you can play the game in total freedom, and you can post your scores without any proof. The important thing is to show proofs during the checkpoints. Only the scores from the checkpoints will be added to the official scoreboard.
What is a checkpoint? It's a period of time in which you must post your official scores. There will be 4 checkpoints (3 during the contest and the final one at the end of it):

- 14/15 April (1st checkpoint)
- 28/29 April (2nd checkpoint)
- 13/14 May (3rd checkpoint)
- 30 May/3 June (final showdown!)

You must send scores in at least 3 checkpoints, otherwise you're out of the competition. Important thing: you cannot send the same score as the previous checkpoints! You must send a lower score if you don't have a better one. Your record in the general ranking will remain your best one, but this thing is important in another way...
The winner of the first checkpoint will win the "Best start award", one for the low and one for the top tiers.
From the second checkpoint on, every player should keep an eye on his improvements, because we will consider the percentage of improvement based on the previous score of a player, and after every "round" we'll give points to the top 3 improved players:
1st - 5 pts.
2nd - 3 pts.
3rd 1 pts.
So there will be another chart, the MIPA chart. If at the end of the tournament you're the first in this chart you are the winner of the MIPA (Most Improved Player) award! This is supposed to add another little layer of competition for the Low Tiers (and only for them) with great possibilities of improvement.
Top Tiers must concentrate on winning the tornament in an epic battle to reach the highest score and the highest prize!

To sum up everything, there will be 3 charts:
- Official score chart (with top and low tiers mixed up)
- Low Tiers Chart (low tiers only only)
- MIPA chart (based on the improvements, low tiers only)

3) Proofs

How to prove your scores during checkpoints:
- If you're a MAME user, please download the right mame + Guwange (HERE) and record an .inp of your performance
- If you're playing your PCB, just record a video (any format you prefer)
- If you're a MAC user, you should get xxxxxx (a name and a version for this mame are coming) and record and .inp of your performance

4) Prizes

- If you realize the best score you win the contest (official score chart), the 1st AEX Cup. Your prize is 100 euro!
- If you realize the best score for a Low Tier (Low Tiers Chart), you win the Low Tiers contest. Your prize is 20 euro!
- If you post the best score on the first checkpoint, you win the "Best Start Award". Your prize is the "Secret prize #1"!
- If you win the MIPA chart, you win the "Most Improved Player" award. Your prize is the "Secret prize #2"!

Please note that the secret prizes are videogames-related gadget and not money. About the money prizes: international payment via Paypal only.
